Event Creator Terms
Effective Date: October 06, 2024
Welcome to OMS2 powered by Commonly! As an event creator on our platform, you play a key role in delivering great experiences for attendees while contributing to the mission of empowering entrepreneurs. These Event Creator Terms outline your responsibilities, obligations, and the terms under which you can create and manage events on our platform.
1. Event Creation and Promotion
- As an event creator, you are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about your event, including the title, description, date, venue (if applicable), ticket price, and any other relevant details.
- You are also responsible for actively promoting your event through the Ticket Split Referral Program or other marketing strategies. You can offer a commission for users who refer ticket sales, incentivizing them to promote your event.
2. Event Confirmation and Commitments
- Once your event meets the required ticket reservation threshold, it becomes confirmed, and you are obligated to host the event as described. You are responsible for ensuring that the event takes place on the scheduled date, at the specified venue, and in accordance with the details provided during the reservation period.
- You must fulfill all promises made to attendees, including providing any services or perks outlined in the event description.
3. Ticketing and Refunds
- You agree to abide by the Event Reservation and Ticketing Policy, including honoring refunds and cancellations as outlined. If you need to cancel or postpone an event after confirmation, you are required to inform attendees promptly, and any refunds must be processed in accordance with our Refunds and Cancellation Policy.
- Ticket sales revenue will be disbursed to you, minus the 8% platform fee and payment processing fees (handled by Stripe), once the event is successfully completed.
4. Revenue Sharing and Referral Program
- If you opt to use the Ticket Split Referral Program, you will set a referral commission per ticket sale, allowing users to earn money by referring attendees to your event. You are responsible for determining the amount or percentage of ticket sales that will be offered as a referral commission.
- All referral commissions will be automatically deducted from the ticket sale and transferred to the user who referred the ticket purchase. The remaining ticket sale revenue, after platform and processing fees, will be disbursed to you.
5. Sponsorship and Advertising
- As an event creator, you have the opportunity to attract sponsors for your events through the platform. You may offer sponsorship packages to businesses or brands, allowing them to advertise or promote their services at your event.
- You are responsible for ensuring that all sponsorship agreements are fulfilled as promised, including any branding or advertising commitments made to sponsors.
6. Event Cancellation and Postponements
- If an event must be canceled or postponed for any reason, you are required to notify all attendees and provide a reason for the cancellation or reschedule. In the event of a cancellation after the event has been confirmed, you are responsible for issuing refunds to attendees as outlined in the Refunds and Cancellation Policy.
- Repeated cancellations or failure to fulfill event commitments may result in penalties, including removal from the platform.
7. User Communication
- - You agree to maintain open and respectful communication with attendees before, during, and after the event. If attendees have questions or concerns, you are responsible for responding promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience.
8. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
- As an event creator, you are responsible for ensuring that your event complies with all relevant local, state, and federal laws, including but not limited to licensing, permits, and venue requirements.
- You are also responsible for any tax obligations arising from ticket sales, sponsorships, or any other revenue generated through the platform.
9. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property
- All content provided for your event, including event descriptions, images, and promotional materials, must be original or properly licensed for use. You retain ownership of the content you create but grant OMS2 and Commonly a non-exclusive license to use your event materials for promotional and marketing purposes on the platform.
- You must respect the intellectual property rights of others, and any use of copyrighted or trademarked material without proper authorization is strictly prohibited.
10. Account Termination
- OMS2 and Commonly reserve the right to terminate your account or remove your event from the platform if you violate any of the terms outlined in this document. This includes, but is not limited to, providing false information, failing to deliver events as promised, or engaging in fraudulent activities.
